Loading ontologies
From AgreementMakerWiki
This page needs to be updated with recent user interface changes.
First load
Upon your first launch of AgreementMaker, you will need to load two ontologies to match (the source and target). In terms of running algorithms it does not make a difference which of the ontologies is a source and which is the target, and it usually depends on whether you choose a global-as-view or a local-as-view approach.[1]
Loading ontologies is done from the File menu, using the "File -> Open Source Ontology..." and "File -> Open Target Ontology..." menu options, which opens the ontology loading dialog. Currently XML, RDFS, and OWL are supported. XML loading is done using a parser made in the lab, therefore the XML format has to be a specific format (contact cstroe1 AT uic DOT edu for more information on the format, [XML format example]). The RDFS and OWL parsing is handled by Jena.
The common format for ontologies is the OWL language and RDF/XML syntax (usually signified with a ".owl" file extension).
NOTE: Currently the "Do not use a reasoner" checkbox does nothing (and will be removed). We are working on implementing reasoning capabilities in other parts of AgreementMaker.
Once you open an ontology, AgreementMaker remembers the ontology. You may later use the Recent menus in order to load the same ontology with one click.
If you want to load the most recent source and target ontologies you can just use the "Open most recent pair" option.
AgreementMaker remembers the ten most recent source and target ontologies.
